CookCanvas Terms of Use
1. The service
CookCanvas is an AI-assisted meal-planning tool offering weekly meal-plan generation, fridge-photo ingredient recognition, smart shopping lists, and nutrition logging. Nutrition values cite entries in the public USDA FoodData Central database with their sources displayed.
2. Not medical or nutritional advice
CookCanvas is not a medical or nutrition professional service. Meal plans, nutrition values, and all AI-generated content in the app are for general informational purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, a nutrition prescription, or weight-management guidance, and are no substitute for the professional judgment of a registered dietitian or physician. If you have a health condition, chronic illness, pregnancy or breastfeeding needs, or a prescribed diet, consult a professional before adopting any meal plan.
3. AI-generated content
AI-generated meal plans and ingredient recognition results may be incomplete or inaccurate (including allergen identification). Final allergen verification is your responsibility — always check ingredients before consuming any food. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Pro subscriptions ($3.99/month or $14.99/year) auto-renew and are processed by the Apple App Store. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions; Pro remains available until the end of the current billing period. Refunds follow Apple’s policies and can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the app for unlawful activity, attempt to circumvent subscription limits, reverse-engineer the app, or interfere with the operation of the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Intellectual property
The plans, logs, and preferences you create belong to you. The CookCanvas interface, brand, icons, and underlying technology belong to the developer.
7. Changes and termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. Material changes will be announced in-app in advance.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
CookCanvas is provided “as is”, without warranty of uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of the app, including reliance on any AI-generated content.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s place of business, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your place of residence.
